GRP

Benefits

Long Service Life:

*Pipes are designed in compliance with the international standards to serve a minimum of 50 years. Operating and maintenance costs are negligibly small.

Perfect and smooth inner surface:

*The smooth inner surface of pipes reduces hydraulic losses. Thanks to its smooth inner surface, friction loss is at a minimum, and it keeps this characteristic throughout its entire service life.

Safe connections:

*ِAlnargis GRP pipe joints are designed with the flexible connection method, and the sealing is provided by couplings having full-face integrated elastomeric seal.

GRP Pipe Diameters and Technical Properties

GRP Pipe Diameters

Technical Properties

Flow Rate

Recommended flow rate for the standard GRP pipe is 4 m/s maximum. Pipes allowing a higher flow rate can be manufactured by special design.

Flow Coefficient

Ratings to be used in hydraulic calculations for Alnargis GRP pipes:

*Hazen–William flow coefficient: C = 150
*Manning coefficient: n = 0,009
*Colebrook–White coefficient:
k = 0,029 mm for the pipes manufactured by the continuous filament winding method.
k = 0,012 mm for the pipes manufactured by the centrifugal casting method.

UV Resistance

*Performance of GRP pipes is not negatively affected by UV rays. Observing color changes on the surface, which do not affect the strength, is normal.

Poisson Ratio

*Poisson ratio that can be used in standard engineering calculations for GRP pipes is between 0,22 – 0,29.

Temperature

*Service temperature of standard GRP pipes is between -40 ̊C and +35 ̊C. Special pipes can be designed for service temperatures up to 50 ̊C.

Thermal Coefficient

*Thermal expansion and contraction coefficient of Alnargis GRP pipes in axial direction: between 24 and 30 x (1/106) mm/mm/°C
